What it is

MaxBowls is a weighing bowl. Food on one side, water on the other.

Every time your dog eats or drinks, it weighs the change and quietly logs it to the MaxPet app on its own. No buttons to press, no camera, nothing to remember. You just open the app and it's there: exactly how much they ate today, and exactly how much they drank. It came out of the same place MaxPet did, me trying to answer simple questions about my own dog, Max, and realising how hard they are to keep track of by hand.

Why it matters

Two of the first questions any vet asks are "Is he eating normally?" and "Is he drinking more than usual?" Most of us honestly don't know. We fill the bowl, it gets emptied, and that's as far as it goes.

But a drop in appetite or a jump in thirst is often the earliest sign something is wrong, days before anything else shows. It's the kind of change that's easy to miss by eye, especially with more than one pet, when someone else does the feeding, or when you're out at work. MaxBowls watches that number for you every day and flags it when it moves. It won't diagnose anything. It just means you notice sooner, while it's still easy to do something about.

How it works

No camera, no microphone, nothing to press.

An honest word on where it's at

I'll be straight with you: MaxBowls isn't shipping yet. I've been using a home-made version for my own dog for over a year, and I'm now working with UK manufacturers to turn it into a proper product I'd be happy to put in your home. That takes a bit of time to do right. Join the waitlist and you'll be first to hear the moment it's ready, and first in line to get one.

What it will cost

The MaxPet app is free, and always will be. MaxBowls is the optional bit of kit that does the logging for you. When it launches, the plan is:

Final pricing will be confirmed at launch. People on the waitlist hear first.
